TELEPHONIC AND TEAMS HEARING REQUIREMENTS

  • Make sure your phone is charged and plugged into a good power source. Do not rely on a battery.
  • Call in at least five (5) minutes prior to the time your case is scheduled.
  • Once connected, please mute your microphone until the Judge calls your case.
  • You may turn on your microphone when your case is called.  Use the same decorum as if you were sitting in the courtroom.
  • Maintain silence while waiting for your case to be called.
  • DO NOT put the call on hold.
  • The Courtroom Deputy activates the call and begins recording the hearing.
  • Wait for the Judge to call your case and ask for appearances.  The Judge will ask for appearances for the Debtor/Movant/Trustee/Creditor/Plaintiff/Defendant.  You will be required to announce your appearance each time a new case is called to make a proper record.  State your  name and whom you represent.
  • Do not address the Court until called upon as multiple hearings are scheduled at the same time.
  • Cases may be called in a different order than what is listed on the Court Web Site.
  • Refrain from making unnecessary noise such as paper shuffling, typing on a computer, talking to others, ringing phones, or other distractions that will be picked up on the recording. This is an official Bankruptcy hearing and should be treated the same as if sitting in a courtroom.
  • Avoid talking over others. The recording cannot pick up two voices speaking at once.  Be clear and concise so that everyone can understand.
  • When your case is concluded mute your microphone until your next case is called.
  • Ask to be excused before hanging up or leaving the call.
